I updated my “About Me” page today (I’d love for you to go read it, please). Still working on getting the whole blog thing set up. Baby steps, you know; I’m getting there. Anyway, the image that I posted was a composite from this January, and I want to tell you about it (with in progress pictures included in the post).
I’ve always been fascinated with the idea of wishing on one thousand origami cranes. I’d honestly love to have a room with them hanging down from the ceiling, like stars as I look up; being just a daily inspiration for me. I actually had intended on creating that for my boys’ room when they were much younger – you know, those days where they actually took naps and couldn’t tear through a house like a tornado. *Sigh* Those days are missed.
To be truthful, I rather enjoy the chaos they give me.
Even though it’s turning my hair grey.
But the cranes have always been a symbol of hope, of better beginnings. Every day is a chance to have a new beginning. You may have screwed up royally yesterday, but start afresh. My PAPERCRANE composite was just that. I didn’t have 1,000 cranes, but if I could have, haha. 2013 kind of sucked. And it was also kind of awesome. But, new starts. And I wanted to create an image that expressed that – that expressed my optimism for the new year.
This was such a simple composite, but it came out exactly how I wanted.
Thanks for reading!
